About the Artist

Katalina Torres is a multidisciplinary artist, educator, and musician born and raised in Dubuque, Iowa and currently living in Iowa City.

Katalina’s visual work incorporates a multitude of different mediums including collage, drawing, mixed media, painting, and printmaking.

Previously performing and releasing music under the stage name TIGER!!!, her newest musical project, bestillbeats, seeks to connect musicians across the Midwest who work in a range of different styles and genres, while also facilitating collaboration between these artists.

Katalina’s work – both audio and visual – places a focus on topics that are personal to the artist herself, such as ADHD, depression, neurodiversity, and being transgender in the state of Iowa.

It is through her work that Katalina hopes to send a message to others who struggle in similar ways:
“You are not alone.”
